For some reason, I struggle and struggle with auth in CakePHP. This seems like it might actually help me. :)
I’m not entirely clear on what a “social media release” is, but I’ve had this company recommended and might do a little experimenting.
bookchiq: Have just discovered Gengo [ http://is.gd/210S ], the solution to all of my WordPress multi-lingual woes. Wish I’d found it sooner!
bookchiq: Are you getting everything you can out of your old blog posts? http://is.gd/20M5
bookchiq: You’ve all submitted posts for the ProBlogger group writing project, right? Good free traffic, and today’s the deadline. http://is.gd/1TZo
I like the idea of making this part of the theme rather than relying on a plugin. Lots of opportunity for very attractive interfaces that way.
You’ve probably been there: you spend hours writing a great blog post, get some good feedback on it, and (justifiably) feel like a brilliant blogger. But then, a week or two later, the post has been…
Besides being full of good information, this post also features a bunch of free RSS icons.
bookchiq: @smashingmag I’d like to see a kind of funky floral WordPress theme. There’s a lot of good themes out there but not much for hipster SAHMs.
bookchiq: Wondering if we’ll get to witness a fantasy football smackdown between @WyattWerner and @brandmilitia :)
bookchiq: @smashingmag Very nice, and I’ll admit I hadn’t seen it. :) Great fit with what I had in mind!
bookchiq: Working on a course to teach blogging and blog promotion skills. @reply if you want in on the beta. :)
I’m seriously thinking of using this as a base theme going forward. It checks out on my SEO requirements and looks easy to work with; I’ll have to start experimenting.
bookchiq: Truly amazed at how many cool things WordPress’s plugin API lets me do. I’m planning on writing my next complex app entirely in WordPress.
bookchiq: I’m seriously thinking of using Thematic going forward. Meets my SEO standards and looks easy to use. Time to experiment. http://is.gd/Zao
bookchiq: @cutlerite Maybe we’re kindred spirits. I have IAmASucker.com. :)
Very helpful overview of using sIFR in WordPress themes meant for distribution. I’m looking forward to prettier fonts. :)
bookchiq: Debating between WP-Member and aMember for a WordPress-powered membership site. Anyone had good success with one or both?
bookchiq: Looking for more “aggressive” cycling jerseys along these lines: http://is.gd/1VPw Anyone know where else I should be looking?
bookchiq: @Sittercity Thanks for the Twitter backgrounds link. I hadn’t seen that site yet and it’s a good model for the free side.
bookchiq: @jkduwe I was on the 350 mile ride, though I didn’t ride it ALL… I alternated between driving a support vehicle and riding, but it was fun
bookchiq: Would you ever pay for a custom Twitter profile background? If so, how much? I won’t take down names. :) Just wondering if it’s a good idea.
I like how he’s put his contact info on the background.
Another interesting Twitter background.
The ChMS for my church.
Not sure why this functionality isn’t built into WordPress, but this is exactly what I needed for some conditional display code.
bookchiq: Happy to see another group writing project from ProBlogger; I always get excellent traffic when I participate. http://is.gd/1TZo
bookchiq: Climbed Bogus in 2:11:44. Definitely not my best time, but not bad for 24 weeks pregnant. #bo
bookchiq: Just got my iPhone. :)
bookchiq: Leaving now on a five-day bike ride… probably no internet access till the weekend. Have a great week!
bookchiq: Just finished painting all of the route arrows for Sunday’s metric century. Night is very dark south of Nampa. http://is.gd/1zy8
bookchiq: Wish some of these didn’t sound so familiar… but I’d guess many entrepreneurs will empathize. http://is.gd/1rKG
bookchiq: @zarathos I used HTTrack; it’s open source, Win/Linux. Had to use an old version, though; new one wouldn’t work for me. http://is.gd/1sMO
bookchiq: My sister is mocking me (heartless girl) for mirroring the WordPress Codex (documentation) to a thumb drive for use when I have no internet.
bookchiq: Next week I’ll be in the middle of nowhere supporting a bike tour. Will have inverter and laptop but no internet. PHP.net is next! :)
bookchiq: @owlhaven Now THAT’S brilliant… on both your part and his. A really good solution to a common concern.
I wish these didn’t sound so familiar….
I’m giving myself permission to buy this in two weeks.
This looks like a useful, affordable service. I will use it myself when I’m ready to launch my new service, and I could definitely see recommending it to clients.
bookchiq: @rosasay Thanks for the link. When I have more time, I’d love to play with using Technorati & delicious for “category development.”
bookchiq: Finally broke down and ordered an iPhone. Too bad it won’t be here for a few weeks… I’d love net access next week in the boonies. Oh well.
bookchiq: Trying to figure out a better category structure for my blog. I think I need a librarian…
bookchiq: I ended up finding my top themes through analysis of all of my previous posts, titles, categories, and tags with http://wordle.net
bookchiq: Can’t believe no one’s created an Olympic commentary drinking game. I’m not drinking, but still seems like an obvious opportunity. :)
bookchiq: @tsorenson Nothing against camping–in moderation–but we’ll be camping all next week on a different bike tour. Beds are nice sometimes. :)
bookchiq: Famous cycling races make it hard to get hotel rooms. Just reserved at a place 93 miles from the race finish. Oh well; it’s not camping. :)
